Our in-house design team develops the concept and shows you how it sits on your building before anything is cut or printed.

Signmaking has changed.Our standards haven't.
Signmakers has been family owned and operated since 1979, servicing South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales. In that time the trade has moved from hand-lettered enamel to CNC routers, LED illumination and digital print at billboard scale.
We adopted all of it, and kept the parts that still produce a better sign. Our team includes tradespeople who can letter a sign by hand and operate the machinery that replaced it — over 100 years of combined experience across the group.
Most of our work comes from businesses that most people on the Gold Coast drive past every week. Signage that is still doing its job a decade after installation is the only real measure of whether it was made properly.

Signage is the only advertising most businesses own outright. Done properly it is an asset on the building. Done cheaply it quietly costs you customers you never knew walked past.

Our workshop is at Unit 1 / 76 Dover Drive, Burleigh Heads — which means the team fabricating your signage and the team installing it are the same people, working from the same building.
Being local matters more than it sounds. Site measures, council requirements and access constraints on a Gold Coast shopfront are things we already know, and if something needs adjusting after install we are twenty minutes away, not interstate.

What does Signmakers Gold Coast do?
Signmakers Gold Coast designs, manufactures and installs commercial signage: shopfront and fascia signs, illuminated and 3D lettering, vehicle signage and wraps, pylon and architectural signage, window graphics, banners, and property and construction signage. Design, fabrication and installation are all handled by the one team.
Where are you based, and what areas do you cover?
The workshop is at Unit 1 / 76 Dover Drive, Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast. We work across the Gold Coast and the wider South East Queensland region, and into Northern New South Wales including Tweed Heads.
Do you manufacture the signage yourselves, or is it outsourced?
We manufacture it ourselves. The workshop runs large format latex and solvent printing, CNC machinery, a spray booth, vinyl plotters, laminators, and metal and aluminium fabrication. Installation is completed by our own team rather than a subcontractor, so one business is accountable from the first sketch to the final install.
How much does business signage cost on the Gold Coast?
There is no single useful figure, because a set of cut vinyl window graphics and an illuminated fabricated sign on a two-storey facade are different orders of magnitude. Cost is driven by size, construction, whether the sign is illuminated, and access for installation. Tell us the site and what you are trying to achieve and we will quote it properly.
Do I need council approval for a sign on the Gold Coast?
It depends on the sign type, its size, whether it is illuminated, and the property it is going on. Some signage is exempt and some requires an application. Freestanding and illuminated signage more often needs approval than flat wall signage. We can advise on your specific sign and assist with council applications, approvals and engineering specifications.
Do you design the sign, or do I need to supply artwork?
We have an in-house design team. You can bring finished artwork, just a logo, a rough idea, or nothing at all, and we will develop the concept with you and show you how it sits on your building before anything is cut or printed.
How long does signage take to manufacture and install?
It depends on what is being built and whether council approval is needed first. Printed graphics and a fabricated illuminated sign are very different jobs. We give you a timeframe with your quote, based on your actual job, rather than a generic figure.
